Went to hot rods maybe twice. The first time I wanted a burger was told I wasnt allowed to get one at that time. Today I tried to go there for a pork roll egg and cheese alittle after 11 and was told I couldn't get one because they stopped serving breakfast at 10:30. I dont see what the big deal is since the cooking grills were on. I doubt I will ever go back even though I live down the street.

This is the best place to get hot dogs. They have the best chilli for a dog, and no other place compares. My other favorite item is the jerk dog, but be warned it is spicy. They also have other really good food, like their waffle fries, and the list is too long. I would recommend this place to everyone. .

This place was owned by a family friend and had luscious hot dogs and fries. He sold and retired to Florida. Cannot rate based on new owner as I have not been there since, but would chance to say that if current owner has followed Hot Rods method of serving like foods, he will do well.

Nothing special - get a hot dog or two with the works (yellow mustard, onions, thin pickle spears) and get back in your car and go. Seating area limited and I'm not a big fan of the soda in a foam cup with lots of ice. Friendly service from this one-person shop.

You can tell the hot dogs are cheap but, the chili is spicy and very good. I have been going to Hot Rods for over 10 years. I keep going back because I love the taste of the chili. In my younger days I would eat 4 dogs now 2 is definitely satisfying.

I survived eating the hot dogs here because I spit most of it back into the bag from whence it came. It's sad that places like this sell hot dogs still when other legit places like Charlie's and Amazing are gone. If you like eating rubber bologna with no taste, then you'll love the dogs here. Also, make sure to order your rancid onions on the side to ensure you get the most vomit for your buck.

They just need better rolls. Maybe invest in the rolls tou would get at a deli.

I have been coming to Hot Rod's since he opened in the 90's. Though I fo not live in the area anymore I make it a point to stop in every time I an near. The hot dogs herr are unique. I highly reccomend the "works" dog, which has mustard, onion and a pickle. When you order fries, you get a BAG of fries. You can also get hamburgers here.

I stop here from time to time because they are in a good location. It can be tricky to get in and out, though. I usually get a cheeseburger. It's ok, but not great. They usually prepare it quickly, so it's good for a quick stop. The French fries are hot and plentiful, but they don't seem to want to make them well done, when I ask for that.

It was good. The chili is nice and spicy, which is a plus. The weiners are decent and the selection is small.

I was never wow'ed by hot dogs in my whole life of 56 years. Until this afternoon, after drving by Hot Rod's Hot Dogs on Route 31, Glen Gardener for the past 15 years, something told me to stop in today. I got two chili dogs with onions & mustard with fries....I live on the Jersey Shore and I was regretting not getting a few more dogs for the ride home. I can't wait to try the burgers next week..lol. In all seriousness these were the best hot dogs I ever had...I never write reviews but they deserve a great review because they're great business. See ya soon

I visit this place a lot since I work nearby. I must say the customer service is always great and they keep the spot clean all the time. Rates are fair and they serve big portions.

I drive all the way from Piscataway for these dogs. I buy 4 to 6 jars of sauce too. DELICIOUS!!!!!!! Not to mention how friendly they are.

Always a great place to enjoy a good dog and fries. My wife and I stop when in the area. Our regular is dogs, the works and white cheese. CASH ONLY!
